Caerwedros Village Hall are the latest organisation to receive a lifesaving defibrillator.

This latest equipment is that to match funding raised by the Caerwedros Young Farmer and the British Heart Foundation Nation of Lifesaver package.

This package teaches CPR skills and provides public access defibrillators where they are needed most.

Enfys Davies, Club Leader for Caerwedros Young Farmers Club said: “We are delighted that the hall now has a defibrillator located outside so that it is accessible at all times in the event of an emergency. I would like to thank the Young Farmers for raising the match funding for this vital piece of equipment.”

Jayne Lewis, BHF Cymru’s Local Fundraising Manager said: “Today, if you suffer a cardiac arrest out of hospital in the UK, you have less than a one in ten chance of surviving. We are leading the fight to change this and create a Nation of Lifesavers. We are working to support the placement of lifesaving defibrillators in areas of need within the local community. With more people in Wales trained in emergency life-support skill and more defibrillators available locally, the chances of resuscitating someone from a cardiac arrest should be greatly improved. Having more defibrillators available locally for these emergencies is crucial to saving more lives.”

Heart and circulatory disease is Wales’ single biggest killer. Across Wales thousands of people are already helping fight for every heart beat as fundraisers and volunteers.
