CARING pupils at a local primary school have raised money to combat a rare disease that affects one of their classmates.
The school council of Penparc Primary School raised £245 for mucopolysaccharidosis (MPS) research. Year 5 pupil Alicia Evans suffers from the condition which affects just one child in 25,000.
MPS and related diseases cover a wide spectrum of severity.
Pupils held a fundraising day on May 15 when the children wore blue clothing for the day. A blue ribbon is one of the charity’s signature.
The money raised will go to support families of MPS sufferers and help to find a cure.
