WI: At the April Meeting Sally Field, our president welcomed everyone and the business meeting proceeded. Two members arranged to go to the Hermon, Crymych showing of the Albert Hall Centenary Celebration. Our Annual Lunch will take place on May 20 at Coleg Ceredigion. Menus were chosen.

Sally then welcomed Ken Jones, who needed no introduction. He spoke of “Crime and Punishment in the Newcastle Emlyn Area,” including the Petty Sessions at Penrhiwpal. Crimes varied enormously and punishments didn't seem always to fit the crimes. Ken included in his talk how his own relatives had been involved – an uncle who was a train robber and a great aunt who obviously had a drink problem. An interesting and amusing talk. Thanks Ken. Debbie Roberts thanked Ken on our behalf.

Sally helped by others was the hostess for the evening. Eve won the raffle. The Competition was for “Most Items beginning with the letter 'C' in a matchbox” was a close run thing between Lyn Crook and Shirley Pearson. Lyn won by just 3 items, so Shirley second and Sally third. Good fun. Our next Meeting is the Resolutions Meeting with Molly's photo show. Information from Sally on 01239 711017 or Ruth on 01239 710620.
