At the end of April, father of two Eurig Davies of Llandyfriog near Newcastle Emlyn will be running the London Marathon to raise money for and to spread awareness of Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales in Cardiff. This will be Eurig’s first time at the race and he hopes to raise a lot of money for the charity that is so close to his heart.

Eurig explained: ‘ I've had personal experience of this fantastic charity as my daughter Celyn has benefited from its excellent service. She was diagnosed with Hemiplegia (a form of Cerebral Palsy) when she was nine months old. We had noticed that she wasn't using much of her left hand and the resulting diagnosis was quite a shock to us.’

Celyn was very fortunate to be referred to Bobath Children's Therapy Centre Wales back in the summer of 2013 for a three week block of intense therapy, and as Eurig adds, the treatment given by Bobath is vital for all those children who require treatment.

‘ As a family, we were welcomed so warmly by the staff at the Centre and Celyn benefited hugely from her time there. On the day before her final session, she walked unaided for the very first time, and we don't think that this was a coincidence.

‘ We are so grateful to Bobath and we look forward to Celyn's next sessions. She is looking forward very much to the trip to London to support me on the day, and hopefully I can make it to the finish line after the past few months of training,’ concluded the keen runner.

Eurig would like to thank everyone who has already donated money and to all family members and friends for the support during his training. Eurig has an on-line donation page too on his Facebook page and donations can be made there.
