Police in Cardigan recently took positive action to tackle antisocial behaviour at the local skate park.

Following a call to the area on March 10 about a group using the area to congregate and drink alcohol, officers attended and utilised their powers under the “Alcohol (Consumption in Public Places) Order” to seize and dispose of alcohol and to prevent further drinking in the area.

Along with the alcohol seizures the group were also given words of advice regarding their behaviour and how it was affecting the community.

Sgt Alison Rees said: “Antisocial behaviour is an area which the community has asked us to focus on and the results of this call show that we can and will deal with anyone causing these issues appropriately and robustly.

"The alcohol ‘exclusion zone’ in the town is a very useful tool to assist us with this, we will continue to patrol the skate park area to ensure that it can be used for its proper purpose, and that residents are not affected by the behaviour of some groups."
