As part of a Ceredigion wide project “A Pint of History”, Llandysul & District Local History Society is researching the history of public houses, both past and present. in the local area.

They were recently contacted by Mike and Delyth Rawlings who are interested in the history of Penrhiwllan Inn and the surrounding area. Penrhiwllan Inn is now better known as The Daffodil.

Working with Hugh and Gill Matthews of The Daffodil and Mike and Delyth, the society will hold an Open Day at The Daffodil on Monday January 26, 1pm to 8pm.

From the society’s collection there will be a display of photos, maps and census data from the area which includes Penrhiwllan, Maesllyn, Croeslan, Aberbanc, Horeb, Henllan, Llanfair Orllwyn and Bangor Teifi.

People are invited to bring along their old photos, stories and memorabilia from the local area as well as any information about local pubs.

Hugh from The Daffodil said: “This is a great opportunity to open our doors to the community, where they can come and reminisce over a cup of coffee. We would love to host a monthly Clwb Hanes gyda Paned (History and a cuppa Club) for local people.”
