Ysgol y Preseli, Crymych, has been ranked in the top ten state secondary schools in Wales.

The top performing schools were published in The Sunday Times last weekend.

The newspaper’s Parent Power supplement – now in its 22nd year of publication – is widely acknowledged as the most authoritative survey of the country’s best schools.

The rankings in the secondary school league tables are determined by the percentage of entries gaining A* to B grades at A-Level this summer and the percentage of entries returning A* and A grades at GCSE.

Ysgol y Preseli’s head teacher, Michael Davies, said he was delighted with the news.

He added: “The governors, staff and pupils are all very pleased to see that we have been ranked within the top10 state secondary schools in Wales, achieving some of most outstanding ‘A’ Level results in the country.”

Mr Davies also thanked parents for their excellent support.

Pembrokeshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Education and Safeguarding, Councillor Sue Perkins, said: “This magnificent achievement is testament to the hard work of staff and students.”
