The Ceredigion county committee of the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution (R.A.B.I.) held their 25th Anniversary Dinner recently at the TyGlyn Restaurant and Conference Centre in Ciliau Aeron. This evening of celebration was well attended and guest speaker for the evening, national chairman of R.A.B.I., Christopher Riddle, who had travelled from Cornwall, thanked the Ceredigion committee for their tireless effort in fundraising and raising awareness for the charity in Ceredigion.

A celebratory cake had been baked and superbly decorated by committee member, Dilys Morgan of Tal-y-bont, to commemorate the special occasion. Gwilym Jenkins, of Gorsgoch, a founder member of the committee was presented with a certificate for long service to mark the event, by national chairman, Christopher Riddle.

Diners were entertained with a variety of sketches, songs and humorous recitation pieces by Tregaron YFC members following the formal presentations.

A raffle was drawn on the night and an auction of various items was conducted expertly by David Davies of Morgan & Davies.

R.A.B.I. regional manager for Wales Linda Jones said: “We would like to congratulate the Ceredigion county committee on reaching this milestone. Their commitment and dedication over the last 25 years has helped raise a significant amount of money to help farming families experiencing financial difficulties. I would also like to express my congratulations to county president, Gwilym Jenkins, on receiving his special award”.

County chairman Stephen Hunt added: “I would like to thank all the county committee members for their valuable work throughout the years. I would also like to thank everybody in Ceredigion who has supported us in a personal, or a professional capacity. With the support of the farming community in Ceredigion, we have been able to help many farming families in need”.

A total of £1953 profit was raised on the evening to boost the Ceredigion R.A.B.I. county fund.
