Forest School sessions were held at Llechryd primary school during the summer term.

Jane Winter gained a training bursary from Chwarae Teg to take part in Forest School leader level 3 training, and completed a six week placement at Llechryd Primary School.

Jane said: “It was a great experience to work in the woods with the children, as they took part in activities such as fire lighting, learning fire safety, using tools, making marshmallow sticks, cooking marshmallows, learning how to tell the age of a tree, building dens and making clay sculptures.”

Forest School is based on early years outdoor education in Scandinavia, and is an opportunity for learners of any age to experience hands on learning within a woodland setting.
