Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority’s Communications and Marketing Team will soon go head to head with the leading public relations teams in Wales, having been shortlisted for two Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Cymru Wales PRide Awards.

The National Park Authority’s visitor newspaper Coast to Coast has been named in the Best External Publication category, while the team behind the visitor newspaper has been included in the shortlist for the coveted Outstanding In-House Public Relations Team category.

Marie Edwards, the Authority’s Communications and Marketing Manager, said: “Our varied work has included a number of recent successes, from delivering the high-profile marketing of the Wales Coast Path on behalf of the Welsh Government, to helping to secure the filming of a number of blockbuster Hollywood movies filmed in the Park. Both areas of work have generated additional income and an enhanced international profile for the Park.”

The Authority’s award-winning retro posters, developed by the team, continue their successful run, and there has also been notable success online, with a 21% increase in website hits and a 63% increase in social media engagement.

Around 225,000 copies of Coast to Coast are distributed throughout Pembrokeshire each year, with thousands more viewing the publication online or downloading the Coast to Coast app.

National Park Authority Chairman Cllr Mike James added: “The team should be extremely proud to have been shortlisted for two of these prestigious awards, which follows on from an incredibly successful few years and emphasises the high calibre of officers we have working for the Authority."

The team will discover if they have won their categories at an awards ceremony held in Cardiff on October 24.
