On Saturday some 20 cyclists including four fire fighters from Cardigan took part in a sponsored cycle ride from Cardigan fire station up to Aberystwyth fire station and then back to Cardigan, a total distance of nearly eighty miles
Cyclists were given a send off by the mayor of Cardigan Cllr Graham Evans.
The cycle was to raise funds for the co-responder unit that operates from Cardigan fire station and will go towards improving the service, additional equipment and facilities for the unit. The co-responder service utilises fire fighters from the station who are trained by the Welsh Ambulance Service and operate in partnership with the ambulance service to attend emergency medical calls in Cardigan and the surrounding area to assist the ambulance service when required.
