Learning about bees

First published in News by

Pictured are a group of beginners and their tutors who attended a beginners course earlier this year at the Teifiside Beekeepers apiary. After attending regular meetings during the season all of them are able to handle bees and some beginners already have their own colonies. Our youngest beekeeper is Alaw James (12) from Penrhiwllan who comes with her mother Meinir, also pictured here. The Teifiside is holding another one-day beekeeping taster course on September 13 this year and participants will learn the basics of beekeeping and even try their hand at extracting some honey.
