A Cardigan man has admitted breaking the by-pass speed limit by driving at 68mph.

Daniel Sion Hodson, aged 21, of 6 Erwlas, did not appear before Aberystwyth magistrates on Wednesday, but entered a guilty plea through his solicitor Alan Lewis.

The court head that Hodson was caught driving at 68mph in the 40mph limit at 9.45pm on April 30.

Alan Lewis said: “He is a local young man who works hard. He has been travelling to Newcastle to work, so his driving licence is very important to him.”

Magistrates fined Hodson £75, and ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge. His driving licence was endorsed with six penalty points.
