Ysgol y Preseli pupils are celebrating top GCSE results.

Of the cohort of 155 pupils, 100% achieved qualifications equivalent to 5A*-G; 89% 5A*-C and 71% 5A*-C including English/Welsh and Mathematics which is regarded as the gold standard qualification by the Welsh Assembly Government.

The number of pupils achieving the Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification Diploma at either Intermediate or Foundation Level reached 98%.

Headteacher Mr Michael Davies commenting on the results stated:

“I am delighted that the hard work of our Year 11 pupils and their teachers has been rewarded with such an outstanding set of GCSE results. At Ysgol y Preseli we continually strive to challenge all of our pupils. We promote an inclusive key stage 4 curriculum which includes a balance between both academic and vocational subjects. This is why the majority of our pupils complete the year with at least 10 or more GCSE passes. Following our record breaking A/AS results last week, we are all looking forward to welcoming this year group of pupils back to school along with many new pupils into our Sixth Form in September”.
