Two teenagers on a visit from Cardigan's French twin town Brioude couldn't believe their luck when they passed a police patrol car in Gwbert.
Not only did the friendly officers give the go-ahead for a picture, but one of them spoke fluent French.
Paul and Maxime Joussouy are pictured with officers Lee Roberts and Ouissem Zroud.
Twinning committee chairman Peter Hazzelby, who took the picture, said: "The boys were delighted - it really made their day."
