Members of Girlguiding Cymru’s Guides from Cardigan have spent a week in the great outdoors volunteering at the Royal Welsh Show – and meeting UK Prime Minister David Cameron as he visited the site on 21 July.

Sadie Mansfield, 14, Helena Walker, 13, Eleanor O’sullivan, 14, Ruth Mansfield, 14 and Angharard James, 13 who are members of the 1st Cardigan Guides were a part of the girl-only Girlguiding Cymru volunteer team at the Show, speaking to the public about their guiding experiences in the rest tent, stewarding at the shows, exploring backstage areas and even being trusted to act as runners for the Judges’ Office.

The Royal Welsh Show, with an annual attendance of nearly a quarter of a million people, is the perfect opportunity for the girls to spread the word about their guiding experiences and encourage others to join.
