Police are satisfied there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a Teifi Valley funeral director whose body was found at his home in the village of Ffostrasol.
The body of 74-year-old Bryn Powell, who lived alone, was discovered at his bungalow Tyr Yet in the centre of the village on Saturday, July 12 and police were alerted.
A native of Rhydlewis, he ran a carpet shop at Bradford House in King’s Street, Llandysul, and was well-known by people of all walks of life over a wide area.
For many years he was a local fireman and served as Leading Fireman at Newcastle Emlyn Fire Station.
The funeral is being held today (Tuesday) with a public service at Parc Gwyn Crematorium in Narberth at 11.30am. Enquiries should be directed to W.D. Thomas, Funeral Directors, Llandysul (tel. 01559 363537).
A police spokesperson told the Tivy-Side “The body was found in a chair at his home and there were no suspicious circumstances.”
HM Coroner for Ceredigion has been informed.
