An inspiring national club will be launched this summer, aimed at having fun and sparking an interest in archaeology, finding out about history through hands-on activities
A Pembrokeshire branch of the Young Archaeologists’ Club (YAC) is holding its first introductory taster session for eight to 17 year-olds on Saturday, July 19, 10.30amto 2.30pm at Castell Henllys Iron Age Village, which is owned and managed by Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority.
The club has been established by Authority staff, along with local volunteers interested in history and archaeology. They will organise monthly sessions, where club members will be encouraged to discover, visit, make and explore through a wide range of indoor and outdoor activities.
The taster sessions will give prospective members and their parents the opportunity to come along and try some activities, learn what archaeology is all about and find out about YAC.
