It was celebration time at Cardigan Guildhall last week as students, staff, family and friends along with governors, local employers, Mayor of Cardigan, Cllr Graham Evans, and Cardigan Town Councillors gathered for the annual Coleg Ceredigion Cardigan Campus Award Ceremony.

A total of 34 awards were presented this year by the Chair of Governors, Allison Coleman. During her address, Allison highlighted that the awards were presented for a variety of achievements ranging from academic excellence to outstanding effort on a personal level. She congratulated each student for their hard work and achievements.

The college was also very pleased to be presenting two additional awards: an award presented on behalf of Soroptimist International Cardigan and District by Kitty Lee and Patricia Ford and the second a perpetual shield, donated by former Cardigan Town Mayor Catrin Miles, and presented by the Mayor Graham Evans to the Apprentice of the Year.

In her closing address Principal Jacqui Weatherburn, Principal, commented, “Our annual Award Ceremony is an excellent opportunity for the college and the community to recognise and celebrate the efforts and achievements of our students. All tonight’s award winners deserve our heartiest congratulations and we wish them every success in the future.”

The ceremony was followed by a splendid buffet at the college Training Restaurant which was prepared by the Catering students and staff.
