Coleg Ceredigion ran a highly successful Construction Day at its Cardigan Campus on Saturday.

Along with tutors from the construction department, there were members from the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), and the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) on hand to provide advice about apprenticeship opportunities for employers. There were also information provided for employers regarding grants and the benefits for providing apprenticeships in the construction industry.

“I’m delighted at the success of the Construction Day event and we are in no doubt that this is something that we’ll be doing again,” Explained Huw Thomas, Construction Curriculum Manager at Coleg Ceredigion. “Along with CITB’s announcement of 21 apprenticeship opportunities for construction students in Ceredigion, there’s never been a better time to consider a career in construction. I’d also like to thank JJ & PT Williams for providing the loan of the mini digger and small dumper for the event, and also to CARDI Building Supplies.”
