People in Ceredigion will benefit from £878,427 to support building and refurbishing affordable homes, the Housing and Regeneration Minister Carl Sargeant announced this week (20 June).

The funding is part of £58 million Welsh Government Social Housing Grant funding for local authorities and housing associations across Wales, contributing to the supply of affordable housing and providing welcome support to many.

Minister Carl Sargeant said:

“The Social Housing Grant has been a real success in helping to provide good quality, affordable homes across Wales and, with the UK Government’s welfare reform policies hitting our communities hard, I’m delighted to announce this substantial funding for 2014/15.

“The funding will be shared between all local authorities who, working with housing associations, will identify and deliver projects which are of maximum benefit to our communities.

“Communities can look forward to seeing better quality, affordable homes, more support on living independently and further jobs created in their area as a result of this Grant and I look forward to seeing the difference that it will make across Wales.”
