Students at a university in Japan are boasting they are Welsh-speaking Japanese as they prepare to sing the hymn Calon Lan and folk song Sosban Fach.
The students at Gakushuin University in Tokyo, where the Japanese Imperial family study and Cardigan Town Councillor Akira Shimazaki (Jack Bara Caws) graduated, have been busy practicing the lyrics.
Mr. Shimazaki introduced them to the music while Nerys Rees of Cardigan taught them the pronunciation. The students will perform the songs at an event in Tokyo on Sunday, July 13.
