Members of the Fire Brigades Union went out on strike for 24 hours last week, as part of a protest against the Government’s plans for pension reform.
The strike began at 9am on Thursday, ending on Friday morning, and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service was operating at around 88% availability during the strike action.
During the 24 hour period crews attended around 30 incidents including a co-responder call at Newcastle Emlyn to a 45year-old woman suffering from chest pains, a false alarm at Penmorfa Council Offices, a co-responder attended a call in Aberaeron, and a co-reponder call at Rhoshill.
The next period of strike action by the FBU is planned for Saturday June 21, 10am to 5pm.
