Local MP Stephen Crabb has welcomed “continuing improvement” in the local jobs situation.
Commenting on the latest unemployment figures, released last week by the Office for National Statistics, the Preseli Pembrokeshire MP said: “In Pembrokeshire we continue to see a continuing improvement in the jobs situation compared to last year, as well as more people finding work over the last month.”
“Each and every person moving into work is an extra person able to earn a wage, provide for their families look to a more positive future.”
Mr Crabb added: “Despite this improving picture in Wales and the rest of the UK, we still need to make sure that the recovery is sustained and benefits all parts of the country. These figures have been good news for Pembrokeshire, but I want to see even more people in work in our county.”
Figures released by the Office for National Statistics show that the number of unemployment claimants in the Preseli Pembrokeshire constituency is 202 lower than in May 2013 and 62 lower than in April 2014.
