Local MP, Stephen Crabb, recently spent the day visiting a variety of Pembrokeshire businesses to find out how the economic recovery is affecting them as unemployment falls across the county.

He met with both well-established and new businesses from the haulage, tourism, retail, manufacturing and service sectors.

In Llanfynach, Mr Crabb caught up with family-run haulage company Mansel Davies. With around 300 staff, the business is one of the biggest employers in Pembrokeshire and it continues to grow.

He then visited a number of independent retailers in Crymych.

Mr Crabb said: "It’s always a privilege to travel around the county meeting the local business owners who are driving the economic recovery at the moment. Wales needs more entrepreneurs and the companies I met today are a prime example of the first-rate businesses that Pembrokeshire can produce.

It’s great that all the companies I spoke to today are positive about the outlook for the next twelve months but we can’t afford to be complacent. I am clear that we can only talk meaningfully about a recovery when all parts of the country are seeing and feeling the benefits. Politicians at all levels need to be doing all that they can to ensure that Pembrokeshire does not miss out on the growth we are seeing.”
