A new local producers market has been set up on a scenic sea-site site in Llangrannog.

Llangrannog local producers market has been up and running for two weeks, and is already being hailed a great success.

Held in the Ship Inn car park on Wednesday mornings, the 18 stalls boast a wide range of produce and crafts, from local producers within a 25 mile area.

Locals and visitors have been flocking to the market, which has a waiting list of people hoping to gain a place for their stall.

The idea to set up a market came from Annabel Selby, who sells home-baking, and Louise Burgess who has a photograph stall.

Annabel said: “It’s a new idea, I don’t think there’s ever been a market here before.

“The picturesque position right by the sea is the best place in the world, and the first weeks have been very successful. It’s been amazing.”

Organisers aim to keep a balance of food and craft stalls, and hope the weekly event will bring people into the village and support other local businesses.

Louise added: “It’s been really good, and attracted a lot of people. We have had a lot of support from businesses in the area, and hope this will help the local economy.

“The momentum of the market has been great, it’s taken on a life of its own.”
