Coastguards were busy on Saturday with several callouts.
* New Quay and Gwbert Coastguard rescue teams and New Quay RNLI Inshore Lifeboat ensured the safety of members of the public and owners of a dog which had fallen from the cliff near Ynys Lochtyn. The deceased dog was recovered by lifeboat crew and returned to the owners.
*Gwbert Coastguard rescue team and Cardigan RNLI Atlantic and D Class lifeboats attended a report of persons cut off or stranded near Tresaith.
On arrival Gwbert Coastguard rescue team confirmed that the persons were not cut off. All units stood down.
*New Quay Coastguard Rescue team proceeded and New Quay RNLI ILB came to immediate readiness to ensure the safety of the vessel RHIB ZILLA with one person on board, following reports of engine failure and possible distress from a third party. RIB ZILLA effected repairs sufficient to return to New Quay harbour under reserve engine power.
The owner was from Somerset.
