Concerns are growing over skateboarders speeding through the streets of Newcastle Emlyn.
Cllr Pauline Evans raised the issue with local PCSO Jeff Kedward at Thursday town council meeting, stating she was worried a skateboarder could be hit by a car.
She said: “They are going in and out in front of cars and someone is going to be knocked down.”
Councillors were also told that the skateboarders were attempting to use a fire-hydrant and church wall as skating obstacles.
PCSO Kedward said police had received several calls about the issue, and had spoken to those involved.
He added that a new purpose built skate park, created using funds from the police commissioner, was aimed at solving the problems.
He said: “Hopefully they will have some where to go and enjoy themselves safely in the right facility.”
