Llandyfriog councillor Towyn Evans, in order to ensure a speedy and complete recovery, has decided to concentrate on his duties in the community and in his ward for the forthcoming year and not to undertake the chairmanship of Ceredigion County Council for the time being.
Cllr Towyn Evans said: “I wish to express my gratitude on behalf of Mari and me for the kindness shown to us during my recent illness. We feel very humble but very grateful to everyone for their concern.
I was greatly honoured to be able to look forward to becoming Chairman of Ceredigion County Council, but the administration of the county must go on.”
The matter of the chairmanship will be discussed in the Council’s Annual Meeting to be held on Wednesday 21st May at 2.30 p.m in the Council Chamber, Penmorfa, Aberaeron.
