An uninsured driver was fined £400 after magistrates found the case proved in her absence on Wednesday.
Emily Morgan, aged 23, of Y Ddol, Llanddewi Brefi, Tregaron, was not present at Aberystwyth magistrates court to face charges of driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and without third party insurance.
The court heard Morgan was seen driving a Vauxhall Tigra on the A485 at Llanfarian at 3.20pm on February 3, and was a provisional licence holder.
She was fined £400 for driving without insurance, and six penalty points were endorsed on her licence, leading to her disqualification for six months, as she already had nine points.
No separate penalty was given for driving without a full driver’s licence, and Morgan was also ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £40 victim surcharge.
