Elin Jones, local AM for Ceredigion, has backed a campaign to raise awareness of credit unions and boost their membership.
The campaign, part of a £1.2 million support package from the Welsh Government, is aimed at recruiting more members to credit unions, and includes TV adverts.
Elin Jones said,
“Credit unions offer a very valuable service, particularly in these tough economic times. They can offer competitive savings rates and much more affordable loans.
“West Wales Credit Union has its headquarters in Cardigan, and I know that over the next three years it’s looking for partners to develop its services in north Ceredigion, as well as its work in Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire.
“I hope this advertising campaign will be successful, and I would urge people to check out the services that credit unions have to offer.”
