Cardigan Castle is set to feature on the map for Japanese tourists.

Tomomi Echigo from Japanese travel business Miki Travel visited the castle last week. Wales and its culture is becoming increasingly popular in Japan but at the moment most tourists from the country visit North Wales.

Cris Tomos, Castle Director, said: “We are delighted at Miki Travel’s interest in Cardigan Castle and we look forward to welcoming tourists from Japan and all over the world to the Castle when it opens.

“We have a fantastic two acre heritage site here, and with the cultural exhibitions and events which are being planned, the Castle is on its way to becoming a huge visitor attraction in West Wales.”

Miki Travel’s customers include huge numbers of individual tourist and leisure groups.
