One of the area's longest running family businesses is to close this summer.

Reid's Linen Warehouse in Cilgerran was founded by Jock and Ena Reid nearly four decades ago.

Their daughter Shirley took over the business, which sells bedlinen and soft furnishings, 11 years ago.

"We haven't taken this decision lightly," she told the Tivy-Side.

"It's simply a lifestyle decision. I have worked here since I was 16 and while I have loved every minute I am ready for a change."

Despite the challenging retail climate and the changes in the way people shop , we still have a lot of loyal customers, many of whom have become very good friends.

The warehouse has seen three generations of Reids, with Shirley's daughter Kelly joining her to help run the business.

"It's been a place full of fun and laughter and there will be a few tears when we finally close," she said.
