Elin Jones, Ceredigion’s Plaid Cymru AM, has moved to ensure that heritage organisations work to make the most of the potential of Cardigan Castle as a visitor attraction when it opens in a few months.
The local Assembly Member raised this issue on the floor of the Senedd this week, obtaining an assurance from the Heritage Minister that he and organisations such as Cadw would work to ensure that the opening of the castle received wide publicity.
Elin Jones said,
“It’s vital that everyone knows about this important new heritage site that will be added to the map of Wales. Cadw and other agencies have a big role to play in ensuring the maximum publicity for the opening of Cardigan Castle.
“I was pleased that the Minister recognised the need to be proactive on this issue, and that he paid tribute to the work done by the Cadwgan Trust, the County Council and the local community to restore the castle.”
