A Talgarreg farmer has today appeared in court to admit a Health and Safety offence brought following a fatal accident.
John Aled Edward Evans, aged 40, of Rhydsais Farm, admitted failing to discharge a duty imposed under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, to ensure that someone not in his employment was not exposed to risks to his health between 23 June and 23 July 2010.
His mother Margaret Mary Ceinwen Evans, 64; and her daughter-in-law Glenys Evans, 35, both entered pleas of not guilty to the same charge during a hearing before Judge Huw Davies at Swansea crown court.
The pleas were accepted by the prosecution and Judge Davies entered formal verdicts of not guilty in relation to Margaret and Glenys Evans.
They were immediately discharged and allowed to leave the dock.
John Evans will be sentenced later in April and was granted bail meanwhile.
Ronald Douglas Clarke, who was working on a cleaning contract, died after falling through a roof at Rhydsais farm on 23 July 2010. A verdict of accidental death was recorded at his inquest.
