Next Monday, 31 March, Cardigan Library and the Dysgu Bro Room will be hosting an exciting free event.

Following the First World War, Aerofilms Ltd was created by two veteran daredevil airmen to record Britain and its ever-changing landscape and now, for the first time for over 70 years, the pictures of Cardigan and over another 1800 images of Wales can be seen by everyone.

The Dysgu Bro Room, next to Cardigan Library, is hosting a free event as part of “Digital Unite” to feature the Britain from Above website, a fantastic online resource showcasing a previously unseen collection of aerial photographs of Wales, Scotland and England from the pioneering age of aviation. The Collection covers the years 1919-1953, a period when the landscape of Britain was undergoing rapid change.

There will be three short talks during the day at 11am, 1pm and 3pm to introduce the project and plenty of opportunity to explore the website and all it has to offer with help from the Britain from Above staff. The pictures are there to be commented on, to have memories added and places located. Everyone is welcome to drop in and find out more about the website and share any memories of Cardigan with the team.

The free event will be on Monday 31 March between 10am-4pm at:

Cardigan Library I.T. suite ( Dysgu Bro Room), Canolfan Teifi, Pendre, Cardigan,
