The Welsh Government has announced the final terms of reference for the broad review of healthcare services in mid Wales. The review was launched in December following pressure from Elin Jones AM, local doctors and the ‘aBer’ campaign group. The Minister has announced that the review should be completed by September.

Ceredigion’s Plaid Cymru AM Elin Jones said,

“The threats to services at Bronglais, such as the future of maternity and cardicac care, and the bed closures at Cardigan show how important it is to think in the long-term about the NHS in mid-Wales as a whole, independently from the day-to-day decisions of Hywel Dda Health Board.

“I hope as many people as possible will contribute to this review between now and September. The Health Minister should be in no doubt as to the strength of feeling locally about the future of our hospitals and wider health and social services in our area.”
