New Quay library is set to be taken over by volunteers after funding cuts threatened its existence.
Ceredigion's Cabinet this week agreed to lease the library building to the town council for twelve months at a peppercorn rent.
The town council plans to run the library with the help of volunteers.
A report to Cabinet stated: "The local community should be given the opportunity to assess whether a local voluntary group is able to sustain the continued operation of the library."
