Ceredigion CAB welcomes new funding from Government to help storm victims
The Charity Citizens Advice has had an injection of funding from Westminster to help give advice and support to people in flood and storm-battered parts of the UK. Ceredigion CAB will run a ‘hotline’ throughout March to give advice on anything from problems with insurance companies, how to get landlords to carry out repairs and money worries caused by paying out for damage – to advice and tips on how to cope with the aftermath of storm and flood damage and where to go for more help, including from the Cardigan Flood Fund – whose deadline is 8 March.
Catrin Evans, Chief Officer of Ceredigion CAB said:
“Even after the water recedes, the impact of flooding can last for years. We know form first-hand experience that helping people get over a crisis like this is a long-term commitment. We’ll be helping residents to sort out housing, deal with insurance companies and ensure that everyone in our community can fully recover from this huge setback.”
Call the local CAB Storm Hotline on 08456 472747 every Tuesday and Friday 10am – 3pm throughout March.
