The managing director of award winning global travel website www.Carrentals.co.uk, based in Tresaith, is skiing Mount Everest in March to raise money for the 4 Cancer group.

Carrentals.co.uk Managing Director, Gareth Robinson, is taking on his biggest challenge yet by attempting to ski the vertical height of Mount Everest, the world's highest mountain, in just one day.

The car hire website has been raising money through a Book & Donate scheme, in which the company donates £1 for every booking made on designated days, for the 4 Cancer Group, as well as supporting fundraising trips by providing car hire for the travelling teams. However, they now want to raise even more funds for Ski 4 Cancer.

Gareth Robinson said: “We have been supporting Ski 4 Cancer for some time now, particularly through our Book & Donate days, but now I want to up the fundraising efforts to raise even more vital funds. I can’t think of a better way to do this than taking on one of the biggest skiing challenges, Mount Everest.”

Gareth will attempt the challenge on the 9th March in the Austrian ski resort of Saalbach-Hinterglemm. In just one day he intends to ski a vertical height of 29,029 feet or 8,848 metres, the height that most aircrafts fly at.

Ski 4 Cancer provides alpine based respite days and short-breaks for British families affected by cancer. They also make grants available to UK based care institutions and fund research into the positive effects of sport and how it can help both prevent cancer and assist in recovery post diagnosis. Ski 4 Cancer is part of the 4 Cancer Group which includes sister charities Run 4 Cancer, Sail 4 Cancer and Bike 4 Cancer.
