A local teenager will take part in a charity sky dive on his birthday this week, in memory of his mother, who lost her brave battle against cancer last year.
Mother-of –three Amanda Rogers, of Penparc, sparked a massive response from the local community, who rallied to raise £18,000 for specialist chemotherapy treatment.
Thanks to their efforts, funding was in place in less than three months, enabling Amanda to start treatment at Prince Phillip Hospital, but she sadly died, aged 41, in January 2013, after a long battle against the disease.
Her son Ben plans to raise funds for Cardigan Cancer Care in her memory, and will take on the challenge of the tandem skydive on his 16th birthday on March 2, arranged by his girlfriend Jess.
More than £1,000 has been raised so far, and anyone wanting to donate can contact Jess by calling
