Aberystwyth university has come to the rescue of the giant Aberteifi Cardigan.
The massive handknitted cardigan needs regular freezing to keep moths at bay. Members of the 2010 committee - which commissioned the cardigan to celebrate Cardigan's 900th anniversary -put out an appeal which was picked up by Tim Langdon at IBERS.
The department has a freezer that it was about to use for killing weevils in oats but is happy to lend out to the cardigan.
And the university has also asked if it can display the cardigan afterwards.
"We're really grateful to Tim and the IBERS team," said cardigan creator Lisa Hellier.
