Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority is urging walkers and visitors to take extra care on areas of the coast path, including Ceibwr, and is warning people not to use the path in periods of extreme weather.
The public are also being advised to exercise caution near cliffs and especially around beaches as the heavy rain and pounding waves increase the risk of cliff falls.
National Park Authority Director of Delivery and Discovery James Parkin said: “The recent storms have led to an increase in rainwater finding its way through soil and rocks, which in turn increases the risk of cliff falls and slumps on the Coast Path. People should always be wary of walking or sitting on or under cliffs that may be unstable.
“The Authority has already identified two problem areas near Broad Haven (North) and Ceibwr. Thanks to information from members of the public and with the kind permission of land owners, Authority staff have created diversions and kept path closures to a minimum.”
