Community councillors have called for the safe route to school at Blaenporth to be re-opened as soon as possible.
The path has been closed due to insurance issues after the land it goes across was sold.
But Aberporth community council was told that the new owners of Glan Eirw were anxious for the path to be re-instated.
"It needs to be done as soon as possible," said Cllr Colin Evans. "Walking on the road instead of the path is very dangerous."
Councillors agreed to write to Ceredigion County Council.
