Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority is urging walk organisers to help create a new directory of information, so that people can discover the wealth of walking opportunities available on their doorstep.

The Authority’s Walkability Project will be compiling an online directory of walks, which will be available via the National Park website and as many partner organisations as possible.

Project Co-ordinator Paul Casson said: “As one of the organisations that support local people to walk in the countryside and around the Pembrokeshire coast, we understand that it is not always easy for interested parties to find out information about walking opportunities or walking groups, and what they have to offer.

“If you are involved with a group or organisation that leads or organises walks, whether informally, as part of a club, as a business, or socially, have useful walking resources, or if you know of a group that does, we would really like to hear from you.

It is hoped that the initial information for the directory can be gathered by the spring so that people can take full advantage of the walking opportunities better weather and longer days. The directory will then be regularly updated to include any new information.

To include details in the directory, download and complete the Pembrokeshire Walking Groups Contact Form from www.pembrokeshirecoast.org.uk and send it to paulc@pembrokeshirecoast.org.uk.

Paul leads a different walk every Tuesday, meeting at Haverfordwest bus station at 9.30am. The walk is tailored to the abilities of whoever is there; please call the number below for further information.
