Ceredigion’s MP, Mark Williams has visited the New Life Church in Cardigan to see at first hand the work of the Church's foodbank. From January 2013 to December 2013, some 441 vouchers were issued to local families.

Commenting following the visit, Mark Williams said:

'I want to congratulate and thank the New Life Church for the work they are doing in the community and for the support they receive from many individuals and businesses. This project was initiated some years ago in response to child poverty figures, but its work has grown more recently.’

‘The New Life Church have collected statistics which they shared with me, on why people are forced to use their foodbank, and I will be sharing that information with Government Ministers. Reasons include benefit delays, low income, benefit changes, domestic violence and debt.’

The New Life Church also supports a number of educational projects in Tanzania, and Mark also discussed their work in this area, following his own visit to Tanzania last year.
