An application for a wind turbine on a Llanfyrnach farm looks set to get the green light next week.

Plans to erect a wind turbine, 45 metres high to its blade tip at Llwyncelyn Lan are due to be discussed by Pembrokeshire County Council’s planning committee on Tuesday morning.

Planners have recommended the application is approved, subject to conditions which include noise management, and temporary 25 year permission.

The site is described as being within a mixed farm holding, and a permanent track is proposed from an access gate to the turbine.

The officer’s report states: “taking into account the existing turbines in the area and those that have been permitted but are yet to be erected, it is not considered that the landscape character would change with the addition of the proposed turbine.

“The area would still be one with occasional wind turbines in it, but they would not be a defining or key character.”

The report adds: “It is considered that the proposal is environmentally acceptable.”
