The Welsh Wildlife Centre has announced the winners of its raffle to win a fantastic three night stay on Skomer Island.
The competition, which took place in the run up to Christmas, was won by Mr and Mrs R Williams of Cardigan, who were selected at random from a draw of more than 200 entries. The prize draw was run in conjunction with a special 20% discount promotion in The Wildlife Trust Shop at the centre.
The prize, worth £360, provides the winners with a unique opportunity to experience island life and the ethereal nocturnal sounds of the Manx Shearwater, a medium-sized long-winged seabird which reside in vast numbers on the island.
The island is also open for day trips from April to September, where visitors can have an up close experience with one of Britain’s most iconic birds, the Puffin. Members of The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales can benefit from free landing on Skomer Island, a saving of £10 per adult.
The Welsh Wildlife Centre, including The Wildlife Trust Shop and Glasshouse Café, will re-open on February 22. For more information visit www.welshwildlife.org.
