The 2013 poppy appeal by the Newcastle-Emlyn branch of the Royal British Legion, ably supported by volunteers, topped £8,000, the highest ever.At the annual dinner at the Emlyn Arms, the Mayor, Cllr. Kelvin Baker, presented the John O Morgans cup to Derek and Ann Jones for the highest house-to-house collection of £282.41 from Cardigan Road and Llandygwydd.
