Llangrannog Welfare Committee will be supporting the British Heart Foundation (BHF) on Sunday 9 February with a charity walk.

Starting at 2pm from the shelter on the beachfront, the walk will be an easy two miles or so around the village, followed by tea and cakes. Participants are encouraged to wear red and donations of red-themed treats are also welcome.

Did you know that coronary heart disease is the Wales’ single biggest killer? It kills over 4,300 people each year in Wales ¬ ¬ ¬– that’s 12 people each day. There are currently 125,500 people in Wales living with coronary heart disease. The BHF’s Ramp up the Red event aims to raise funds that will go directly towards vital research, support and care for those suffering with heart disease.

Committee member Kat Dawes said, “We wanted to get involved because BHF Cymru were instrumental in providing us with a potentially lifesaving defibrillator last year. Charity walks in Llangrannog are always great fun and we hope that lots of people will want to get involved and donate money.”
